Food Art: A Super Game Day Sandwich
The biggest game day event of the season is fast approaching and this adorable sandwich is sure to make any little football fan excited. It was easy to make and a touchdown with the kids!
What You’ll Need
2 slices of pumpernickel/rye bread (or other dark bread your child likes)
1 slice of turkey bologna – or lunch meat of your choice
1 slice of mozzarella cheese
a kitchen knife (please supervise children if allowing them to slice)
How To Make It
1. Assemble your sandwich using 2 slices of pumpernickel or rye bread and lunch meat of your choice – I used a slice of turkey bologna. Using your knife, carefully slice your sandwich into an oval shape. Place this sandwich on a plate.
2. Grab your slice of mozzarella cheese and slice it into an oval shape, just like your sandwich.
3. From your oval slice of cheese, slice 2 half inch wide slices off each end of the cheese. Place these slices of cheese on top of your sandwich.
4. Lastly, slice 5 very thin slices from your piece of cheese and place these in the center of your football sandwich.
