5 Non-Carving Pumpkin Decorating Ideas
Pumpkins are often the centerpiece of Fall decorations. Carving a pumpkin is fun but not always easy for kids (especially the little ones). Here are 5 pumpkin decorating ideas that don’t require any carving at all!
Thumbtack Studded Pumpkin
All you need is thumbtacks (you can buy a large set at the dollar store) and your pumpkin. Press thumbtacks in a fun pattern. Here we followed the vertical lines of the pumpkin.
You’ll need some acrylic paint and painters tape. Tape off a fun pattern or shape on your pumpkin and have fun painting! You’ll need a few coats to get a clean color but it looks very cool when you peel off the tape.
You’ll just need permanent markers and your pumpkin. An adult can draw in a fun pattern for kids to color in, or the kids can go wild with their imagination!
Duct Tape Mummy Pumpkin
For this technique you’ll need glue (like a hot glue gun), googly eyes and white duct tape. Adhere the eyes to the pumpkin with the hot glue gun. When dry apply the duct tape all around the pumpkin with the eyes peeking out.
For this technique you’ll need glue (we used a glue stick), glitter, a box (to catch the glitter – optional) and your pumpkin. Apply the glue, sprinkle on the glitter and allow to dry!
