Food Art: Pizza Roll Pull-Apart Heart Pizza
This heart-filled season, do you want to show a little love at snack time? But really quickly and with minimal preparation? Meant for sharing, this pull-apart heart pizza made from frozen Totino’s pizza rolls is the perfect after-school snack or light dinner to get the kids in the mood for Valentine’s Day.
Pizza on top of pizza is doubly delicious, and this meal takes only a few minutes to arrange and ten minutes in the oven.
To make pull-apart heart pizza:
You will need:
18 Tortino’s Pizza Rolls
Pizza or spaghetti sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings of your choice (optional)
Preheat oven to 425º F. Line a baking tray with a piece of parchment paper. Arrange the pizza rolls as shown, placed tightly together in a heart shape.
Carefully spoon sauce on top of the pizza rolls.
Sprinkle cheese on top of the sauce.
If you like, place more toppings of your choices, such as pepperoni or spinach leaves. Shown are spinach leaves cut into hearts with scissors.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the cheese begins to brown at the edges. Broil on high for one minute to further brown the mozzarella cheese. Let rest for several minutes before digging in.
TIP: If you’d like to transfer the pizza to a plate, slide two spatulas and/or dough scrapers under each side and lift all of the pieces at once.
